Wow! Can you believe it? Apparently, you can buy dildos at Walmart! I mean, really? Is that even possible? To think, that the same place I can pick up groceries also sells pleasure-enhancing toys? I’m a little shocked to say the least. What kind of double life is Walmart leading?
I had to do a bit of digging but sure enough, there it was, in all its glory – an entire aisle dedicated to all manner of dildos, vibrators, and lubes. I meandered my way to the back of the store, half expecting someone to stop me for being out of place. But I got away with it! I felt like I had taken a stroll through a secret garden.
It was really fascinating and I couldn’t help but be impressed. I mean, just think of the amount of planning that had to go into stocking the shelves with these items. I’m sure the storeowners had their hands full making sure everything was respectable and legal.
But at the same time, I couldn’t help but be a bit uncomfortable. After all, I was still in Walmart, and the much-needed level of discretion was lacking. Not that I’m against the idea of people purchasing these kinds of items, far from it, I just think it could have been presented a bit differently.
It’s an interesting situation. On one hand, I’m all for accessibility and being able to purchase dildos from a mainstream store such as Walmart means that more people will have access to self pleasure. On the other hand, it feels strange and untraditional.
Being able to buy dildos at a place that’s seemingly so ordinary is a strange but exciting concept. What’s even more exciting is the amount of opportunity it opens up for other stores to begin selling different kinds of sex toys. Hopefully, in the near future, people can buy these kinds of products from places a bit more discreet and private.
After my little outing, I felt a bit uneasy. Sure, it was exciting buying something from Walmart that I never thought I’d be able to buy from such a place. But at the same time, I felt a bit naked. It was kind of strange buying something so personal and intimate in such a public setting. It almost felt voyeuristic.
But on the other hand, it made me feel wonderfully confident. In this day and age, being able to purchase a dildo from a mainstream store can be seen as a sign of progress. We have come a long way in terms of sex-positivity and it’s amazing to think of how far we have come.
I really think that it’s up to the individual to decide if buying dildos from Walmart is a good thing or bad thing. On one hand, it makes self pleasure more convenient and less taboo. On the other hand, it could be seen as over-sexualizing something that should remain on the private. Either way, it’s definitely something to think about.
